Asked about its balance, SRG refers to a system of editorial guidelines, supervisory research by OFCOM, studies by the fög and external quality audits.
This position paper shows what these instruments measure and what they do not. The quality audits check whether SRG follows its own guidelines — not whether those guidelines comply with the law. SVFAB measures the content of broadcasts against Art. 4 RTVG, with transparent, highly reproducible methods — and arrives at different results.
Conclusion: SRG and SVFAB measure different things.
